Reason #1: I used to write. Then I stopped. Now I want to start again, but I’m challenged by the place of silence where my muse used to be in my mind. Instead of avoiding the silence any longer, I’m going to write flash fiction. I love it because it kick-starts the creative side of my brain. If I manage to wring a few ideas out of the silence, I can dive in and just write straight away.
Reason #2: Flash fiction allows me to give you the story without having to lay out complete sketches of background and character and plot. In other words, my goal is to show, not tell, the story. The stories may be rough—or they may be too distilled and concentrated. But I hope you will enjoy them.
